Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are among the most versatile skin treatments available. There are many different types and strengths available. They work by encouraging the surface layers of skin to slough off, and healthy new cells to form.

Types of Peels

The mildest formulas are gently refreshing with no down time. This is an excellent option if you need to look your best for a special occasion. They are also a way to maintain healthy, beautiful skin. Stronger chemical peels may be used to address a number of cosmetic and medical concerns.

One of the most common conditions we see is acne. Special acne formulas are very effective in controlling breakouts and reducing the chances of scarring. Other specialized formulas and techniques may be used to:
SilkPeel Dermalinfusion

SilkPeel Dermalinfusion

  • Lighten dark spots
  • Tighten pores
  • Reduce wrinkles and fine lines
  • Even skin tone
  • Improve skin texture
  • Treat sun damage
The SilkPeel is a different kind of treatment. It is performed with a machine, very similar to microdermabrasion. However, in addition to the gentle abrasive action, it infuses the skin with a variety of solutions to improve results. Many of the same solutions used in chemical peels can be used in SilkPeel Dermalinfusion, for a dual action treatment.

What to Expect

Most chemical peels are painless, with little to no downtime. Some of the stronger solutions may sting a bit, so we provide devices to keep you comfortable. Any discomfort you feel will cease when the neutralizer is applied.

You can return to normal activities immediately following a mild chemical peel. Stronger treatments may involve a more extensive peeling process, so you may wish to avoid public events for a few days. The length of recovery time depends on the individual, and on the type and strength of the peel. Four to five days is average for moderate peels, while aggressive peels may take five to seven days.

Like all treatments, chemical peels are customized to meet your individual needs. For some patients, taking a few days off work and away from social appearances is not feasible. We offer modified versions of aggressive peels to achieve the same results more gradually, without the downtime.
